Department of Automotive Engineering
he greatest merit of this school is its highly time-effective system. It takes
roughly 60% of the class time taken by other vocational schools (senmon gakko)
to qualify to take the exam for the Class “2” Gasoline Auto Mechanic” and the
Class “2” Diesel Auto Mechanic”.
With this time-effective program, students will have additional hours to further
their studies in automobile technology by taking practical training classes such
as automotive body maintenance, auto bike maintenance and automotive design.
By the end of these courses, students will have gained a more thorough knowledge
of the automotive industry, giving them the necessary edge over the competition.

Training Professional Mechanics and Engineers
in actual races.
NAC provides chances for students to become professional mechanics who are active
in various automotive fields worldwide. Students from this department are sent
to Team LeMans (formula Nippon) for training, which includes factory visitations
and short-term practical coaching by professional mechanics. Through on-the-job-training
in this scientific engineering program, students maintain and tune up machines
and enter races such as “TEAM NAC”, which runs as a laboratory course, using
a “Super FJ” level car as material for the class. Capable practitioners are always
needed in the racing field, and the Team LeMans program provides opportunities
to work with staff members, which works favorably towards future employment.
The knowledge acquired in this program can also serve to prepare students for
the Class “2” Auto Mechanic License Exam.
“In
the world of automobile racing, drivers and mechanics are equally important.
Each is a highly regarded professional. All staff members need to concentrate
their efforts as a team for the best results in a race. I want NAC students to
gain hands-on experience and expertise through this program so they can fully
appreciate the joys of automobile racing.” |
| Department of International Study and Automotive Engineering (3-year course) |
Foreign students have a chance to learn
high-level Japanese engineering technology.
NAC accepts many students from overseas. This Department of International Study and Automotive Engineering
trains active engineers in an International setting. NAC offers the
highest level of engineering techniques in automotive education, as evidenced
by the large number of NAC graduates/ alumni who are very active in their businesses,
both in Japan and many other countries. |
| “Bekka”: A Japanese Language and Culture Course for Students from Overseas |
| The aim of this course is for students to obtain
Japanese language ability in order to enroll at Japanese Universities and be
effective in Japanese society. Students are guided in the Japanese language to
cope with everyday life in Japan and become familiar with expressions related
to the automotive industry to ensure success in Japan after graduation. |

In lieu of the flourishing used car market and the desire for
consumers to continue to drive cars for longer periods of time, the number of
car owners in Japan is increasing on an annual basis. In the face of this increase,
the number of mechanics carrying out car inspections and maintenance being just
over 230,000 is insufficient. The demand for maintenance industry mechanics is
on the rise.
